Israeli army arrests 12-year-old in West Bank

The Israeli army has arrested a 12-year-old boy from the northern West Bank town of Qalqilya, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said Thursday.

The Israeli army has arrested a 12-year-old boy from the northern West Bank town of Qalqilya, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said Thursday.
Khaled Ghannam was arrested on Wednesday while he was near the Qalqilya Zoo, the PPS said in a statement without giving further details.
Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that Ghannam was a seventh-grade student who was studying at a school linked with the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
Some 200 children are languishing in Israeli prisons, according to the same NGO.
