Turkish security forces on Wednesday seized 200 kilograms (440 pounds) of marijuana in southern province of Antalya, on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, security sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, the local gendarmerie forces conducted an operation against illicit drug trafficking in Dosemealti district, said a source who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

Some 161 root cannabis were also confiscated during the bust.

Two suspects, identified only by the initials D.E. and A.G., were arrested for drug smuggling.

In the western Denizli province, anti-drug police launched an operation against trafficking illicit drugs at 12 different addresses.

In the operation, small amount of drugs were seized and 10 suspects were arrested for smuggling drugs.

Separately, in the southern Hatay province, three people were remanded for illicit drug trafficking.
