Turkey’s benchmark stock index fell by 0.22%, or 231.49 points, to start the week at 102,921.71 points on Monday.

On Friday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index decreased 0.38% to 103,153.20 points with a daily trading volume of 9.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7730 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.7550 at the last week’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 6.3660, versus 6.3450, and one British pound traded for 7.4050 Turkish liras, while it was 7.3830 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $61.80 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
