Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Friday at 107,108.90 points with a daily rise of 0.28%, or 303.70 points.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 20.11 points to close the day at 106,805.20 points with a daily trading volume of 7.8 billion Turkish liras (some $1.37 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7040 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.6950 at Thursday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3150, versus 6.3140, and one British pound traded for 7.3900 Turkish liras, versus 7.4010 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $63.59 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
