Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden continues to lead Democratic presidential contenders, according to a survey Wednesday.

The November poll by CNN found Biden maintains his lead with 28% support among Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents who are registered to vote.

Biden is followed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders with 17%, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren at 14% and South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 11%.

When compared to a national poll in October, Biden’s support dropped from 34% to 28%. Sanders received a one-percent uptick that stood at 17%. Warren’s support was down from 19% to 14%.

The poll found a 6% surge in backing for Buttigieg.

The field of Democrats vying to be the party’s nominee in November 2020 presidential race remains crowded, with 18 other candidates running to challenge President Donald Trump, a Republican.

The survey was conducted Nov. 21 – 24 and asked 1,007 adults. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7%.
