Fenerbahçe defeated Kasimpasa 3-2 on Friday evening to reclaim top spot in the Turkish Super Lig, with leaders Alanyaspor having a game at hand.

Kasimpasa, played the last 45 minutes with 10-men on the field, managed to cause problems to Fenerbahce but the Istanbul club were able to protect their 59th minute lead and got three points.

Vedat Muriqi, Fenerbahce’s star this season, converted two penalty kicks in the first half, but Kasimpasa had an answer with Abdul Rahman Khalili.

Leading the first half 2-1 against 10-men Kasimpasa, Fenerbahce had a little shock in the 56th minute, when Ben Youssef’s shot after corner kick found the net to equalize the score at 2-2.

Only three minutes later, defender Serdar Aziz headed in a corner kick to give Fenerbahce their match-winning lead with 3-2.

Fenerbahce’s defender Mauricio Isla was sent off with a direct red card in the 72nd minute, but they managed to hold on to win.

In the opening match of the 11th week in Super Lig, Fenerbahce managed to increase their points total to 20, leading the league ahead of Alanyaspor, who have a match at hand.
