Artificial Intelligence (AI) will change how the world operates, speakers at an event in Istanbul said Wednesday.

The 10th edition of the Bosphorus Summit under the theme Towards a New World Order was organized by the International Cooperation Platform (ICP), an independent institution that assists in policy making.

Talal Abu Ghazaleh, the honorary chairman of the institution, said AI will broadly divide people into two categories.

“Those who are inferior because they did not have the chance to benefit from the power of AI, and those who are superior, physically, mentally and in every way.”

He said ”we have entered the fourth industrial revolution where the ‘future is all about innovation’.”

Ghazaleh said the dispute between the U.S. and China over intellectual property rights is like a dynamite ready to explode.

Touching on the global economic issues, he said, the world is bankrupt because while the world’s GDP is $83 trillion, the total debt is three times the GDP.

Turkey becomes important location

Cengiz Ozgencil, founder of the ICP, said the event aims to generate innovative ideas.

Ismail Gulle, the president of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), said Turkey has become an important stop in China’s One Belt One Road project — which aims to connect Asia, the Gulf region, Africa and Europe with a network of land and sea routes.

It is a milestone that the first freight train went to Czechia from China uninterruptedly via Turkey in early November, he said.

The three-day event which started Monday was organized under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
