U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview on Tuesday that he likes Turkey and gets along well with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, praising the allied country as a “very good member of NATO.”
Speaking in London, Trump said Turkey had to knock on other doors when former U.S. administration refused to sell Patriot missiles, noting that Ankara purchased billions and billions’ worth of F-35 fighter jets.
Trump said that if the U.S. refuses to deliver the jets, Turkey will explore other venues.
