Turkish police on Sunday seized 152 kilograms (335.1 pounds) of heroin hidden in beehives in the country’s southwestern Mugla province.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police launched an operation against illegal drug trafficking in Ula district of Mugla, said the source who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The police stopped the truck, which was carrying 152 kilograms of heroin kept hidden in beehives.
Police wore special costume of beekeepers as a narcotic dog reacted to the beehives. A total of 76 packages of heroin were seized.
Four suspects, identified only by the initials C.B, TE, F.G. and S.S, were arrested for drug smuggling.
