Turkey will reopen its consulate generals in Iraq’s Basra and Mosul, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said Monday.

Speaking during a session in parliament, Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey’s relations with the U.S. are going through “tough times” due to Washington’s approach on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ).

“The U.S. has taken our purchase of the S-400s out of context and associated it with irrelevant issues.”
