Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose by 0.15%, or 147.07 points, to start Wednesday at 100,672.39 points.

On Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index went up by 0.44% to reach 100,525.32 points with a daily trading volume of 6.75 billion Turkish liras ($1.17 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7630 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.7430 at Tuesday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3860, versus 6.3760, and one British pound traded for 7.4420 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4150 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $62.55 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
