-Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose by 0.18%, or 188.21 points, to start Wednesday at 107,340.46 points.

On Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 0.64% to 107,528.68 points with a daily trading volume of 9.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.7140 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.7160 at Tuesday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3290, versus 6.3340, and one British pound traded for 7.3930 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4180 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $60.73 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
