Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Monday at 107,350.11 points with a daily rise of 0.42%, or 446.43 points.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.21% to close the day at 106,903.68 points with a daily trading volume of 7.9 billion Turkish liras (some $1.4 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.7480 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.7470 at Friday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3350, versus 6.3270, and one British pound traded for 7.4430 Turkish liras, versus 7.4260 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $61.20 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
