A Turkish court on Thursday remanded into custody a key suspect in the stabbing case of a college student, judicial sources said.

Ceren Ozdemir, 20, a music student at Ordu University, was stabbed to death outside her house on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified by the initials O.A., confessed the crime on Wednesday to prosecutors in the Black Sea province of Ordu, said the sources who asked to remain unnamed due to restriction on talking to the media.

The suspect will be sent to prison under intense security.

O.A. escaped from prison Sunday and later confessed he killed Ceren Ozdemir.Ozdemir, 20, was a third year student in the Department of Music and Performing Arts at Ordu University.She was stabbed to death in front of her house Tuesday in the Altinordu district of the province.
