Turkey’s top diplomat is set to pay a two-day official visit to Italy on Thursday to attend the 5th edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) conference and to hold bilateral talks.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will deliver a speech on “Turkey’s Vision and Strategy on the Issues Related to Mediterranean and the Ways to Foster a Positive Agenda in the Region,” during the conference in Rome, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Cavusoglu will also hold meetings with his counterparts from participating countries as well as representatives of international organizations.

He is also due to hold bilateral talks with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio, the statement said.

“During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Italy, current regional and international developments, as well as Turkey’s EU accession process will be discussed,” it added.
