Turkey’s benchmark stock index slipped 0.46%, or 510.33 points, to start Wednesday at 110,563.36 points.

On Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell slightly by 0.05% to 111,073.69 points with a daily trading volume of 10.2 billion Turkish liras (some $1.7 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.9100 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.8800 at Tuesday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.5820, versus 6.5570, and one British pound traded for 7.7550 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7500 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $65.69 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
