Turkish female boxer Busenaz Surmeneli performed the military salute for Turkish soldiers who have been carrying out Operation Peace Spring in Syria against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists, after her victory against her Chinese opponent at the World Boxing Championships.

Surmeneli, who won a gold medal in the 69-kg final in the 2019 Women’s World Boxing Championships in Russia, was given a warm welcome upon her return to Turkey at Trabzon Airport.

The 21-year-old Turkish athlete won her first world title in seniors.
