Top Council of Europe official due in Turkey on Sunday

The secretary general of the Council of Europe will arrive in Turkey on Sunday for a two-day visit, said Turkey’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The secretary general of the Council of Europe will arrive in Turkey on Sunday for a two-day visit, said Turkey’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

During her visit on Dec. 8-9, Marija Pejcinovic will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul.

Pejcinovic will also take part in the launch of the “Supporting the Implementation and Reporting on the Action Plan on Human Rights in Turkey” project carried out by the Justice Ministry.

“This visit will be an opportunity to discuss various aspects of the close relations and cooperation of our authorities with the Council of Europe, of which Turkey is a founding member,” the ministry said.
