Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose 0.57%, or 604.73 points, to start the week at 107,193.15 points on Monday.

On Friday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 0.20% to 106,588.41 points with a daily trading volume of 7.44 billion Turkish liras (some $1.3 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.7100 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.7220 at last week’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 6.2980, versus 6.3290, and one British pound traded for 7.3550 Turkish liras, while it was 7.3730 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $62.60 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
