Turkey’s Meryem Iyin won gold medal in Taekwondo Europe G1 tournaments in Serbia’s capital Belgrade on Saturday.

Iyin defeated her Serbian opponent 21-7 in the final match.

“I’m a champion. Thanks to God. I defeated Serbia 21-7. I’m very happy, I also thank everyone who supported me,” said Turkish athlete on Twitter.

Iyin also performed a soldier salute on the podium.
